Young and Takacs named honorable mention for NAHL’s Players of the Month for March

The North American Hockey League announced its Players of the Month awards for the month of March and Titans forward Michael Young and goaltender Andrew Takacs were named honorable mention for their respective positions.

Young had 13 total points (6 goals and 7 assists) in eight games with a +7. On the season, the Kings Park, NY has 48 total points (23 goals and 25 assists) in 51 games. He is second on the team in goals. He is third in the league with a +31.

This is the seventh time this season that Young has received weekly/monthly league honors. He was star of the week for week ending March 13 and honorable mention for weeks ending March 27 and 20, February 27, February 6 and October 10.

Takacs posted a 4 – 0 record with a 1.77 goals against average with .930 save percentage and one shutout. On the season, the Bowie, MD native has a 28-6-3 record with a 2.44 goals against average and .917 save percentage with three shutouts. He is tied for first in the league with most wins.

This is the eighth time this season that the Colgate commit has received weekly/monthly league recognition. Takacs was honorable mention for weeks ending September 26 and January 16 and first star for weeks ending October 31 and February 20. He was second star of the week for March 6, and he was honorable mention for goaltender of the month for October and December.
