The New Jersey Titans are set for a home and home series to close out the regular season slate against the Danbury Jr Hat Tricks this weekend. Danbury has proven to be a tough out for New Jersey this season, as the teams have split the season series with 3 wins and one overtime loss each. The Jr Hat Tricks have won the past two games, both in New Jersey, by a score of 4-2 on January 31st and 3-2 in overtime on February 14th.
One of the youngest teams in the league, Danbury has embraced an identity of fast and tenacious play. They are led by Wyatt Stefan and Grant Dietz up front, with 31 and 30 points respectively. Lukas Fursten and Thomas Kiesewetter have split time in the Danbury crease. Fursten, acquired from Philadelphia as the calendar turned to 2024, has a record of 4-3-3 with the Jr Hat Tricks and a 7-9-3 record for the entire season. Kiesewetter, committed to Princeton University, has a 1-4-1 record this season and was in goal for Danbury’s win on the 14th.
New Jersey will look to Dominik Bartecko and Dominick Rivelli to provide their offense. They are tied with 17 goals each, and Bartecko leads the team with 46 points. In goal, Zak Brice and Dylan Krick continue to split time, with Krick getting the start in New Jersey’s last game, a 3-1 victory against Northeast last weekend.
Friday will see the teams face off for the last time in the Hat City, a 3:00pm matinee at Danbury Arena. Then, the teams will head down to Middletown for a 7:00pm rematch on Saturday, February 24th. To purchase tickets for Saturday’s game, click this link.
