Titans Recognized with Atlantic District over Summer

Jul 24, 2011

(Howell, NJ) – With all the momentum built up by the NJ Titans Hockey Club since moving into Howell Ice World last December, and a strong period of tryouts, many Titan players have gained notoriety over the summer with their participation in USA Hockey’s Atlantic District Summer Development Program.  Coming off a successful Summer last season, the Titans saw many players involved in the program this summer.

At the 1996 Birth Year level, the Titans had an outstanding showing.  Making the USA Hockey National Festival was U16 National Defensemen Trevor Heuser.  Two other Titans were selected to play on the Kent State Select 15 District team.  U16 National Defenseman Tim Gelatt and Forward Ryan Price were also selected to be a part of the Program, and will attend the Kent State Tournament later on in the Summer.

At the 1997 Birth Year level, the Titans had a phenomenal showing as four Titans were selected to be a part of the program.  The four Titans were all selected to play for the Kent State Select 14 District Team.  Those players, all Titan Bantam Majors are Goaltender Michael Cernero, Defenseman Wayne Jackson, and Forwards Ryan Walker and Matt Kidney.

Also at the 1997 Birth Year level, congratulations to longtime Titan Jessica Haviland of the Bantam Red team and U16 Lady Titans for participating in the Atlantic District Camp and being selected to participate in the Girls 14 National Festival which is currently ongoing in Rochester, New York.

The Titans were also represented on a talented Atlantic District Staff over the course of the Summer Camps for the District.  Goaltending Coach Terry Jarkowsky served his first year on the District Coaching Staff, PeeWee Red and Junior Associate Head Coach Randy Walker served his 19th Year on the District Coaching Staff, and Junior Assistant Coach and PeeWee Red Assistant Coach Justin Friedman served his fifth year on the District Coaching Staff.  Congratulations to all players and coaches involved.
