Three weeks after winning their first ever NAHL Robertson Cup National Championship, the Titans are back at it and preparing for a new season and to defend their title with the North American Hockey League’s (NAHL) annual draft that is being held today starting at 2:00PM ET.
The Titans have seven picks in today’s draft:
- Round 1 (27th overall)
- Round 3 (64th overall) – from the Chippewa Steel for goaltender Berk Berkeliev (February 2021)
- Round 3 (85th overall)
- Round 4 (102 overall) – from Janesville Jets for forward Jack Ford (September 2021)
- Round 5 (143 overall)
- Round 7 (201 overall)
- Round 8 (230 overall)
The Titans had three other picks in this draft, but they were part of three major trades. They did have the 172nd overall pick (round 6) but it was traded to the Maine Nordiques in November 2020 for the rights to Jake Suede, who later became the Titans captain during the 2020-21 season.
The other two trades occurred with the North Iowa Bulls and were major components to the Titans winning the Robertson Cup championship. Back in late September, the Titans traded the 114th overall pick (fourth round) for goaltender Andrew Takacs, and in November the Red Buckets traded the 56th pick (round 2) and Jake LaRusso for forwards Chris Carroll and Ryan Coughlin. Carroll was arguably the team’s best overall 200-foot player while Coughlin did nothing but produce, including two huge goals in the playoffs (as well as throughout the season).
Fans can receive updates on all of the Titans social media channels. It will be broadcast live on HockeyTV and online at nahldraft.com.
