The New Jersey Titans, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that forward Shane Haviland has committed to play NCAA Division III Ice Hockey for the Elmira College Soaring Eagles, who play in the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC). His commitment begins in the fall of 2020.
Haviland, 20, a lifelong member of the Titans Youth Hockey Program, played two seasons with the NAHL club and had 43 points (11 goals and 32 assists) in 74 regular season games. This year the Sea Girt, NJ native had 33 points (8 goals and 25 assists) in 43 contests.
“I would like to thank the Titans organization for everything they have done for me, especially the ownership group of George Haviland and Jimmy Solovey” stated Haviland. “I also would like to thank my coaches – Craig, Bobby, Shaps and the rest of the staff for giving me the opportunity to play hockey at a high level and at home. And last, but not least, I would like to thank my teammates, who I call brothers. I would not be where I am today without them” concluded Haviland.
“We are so proud of and happy for Shane on his commitment to Elmira College” stated Titans head coach and general manager Craig Doremus. “In Shane’s two seasons with us he was a big part of our forward group and contributed so much offense for us. Shane will be a great player at Elmira, and we look forward to following his career there. We wish him and his family nothing but continued success” concluded Doremus.
