The New Jersey Titans, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that forward Matthew Iasenza has committed to play NCAA Division III Ice Hockey for the Hobart College Statemen, who play in the Liberty Conference – a member of the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC). His commitment begins in September 2021.
Iasenza, 21, played two seasons with the Titans and had 52 points (22 goals and 30 assists) in 96 regular season games. This past season the Pierrefonds, QC native had 24 points (12 goals and 12 assists) in 42 contests.
“I am excited to further my education and play college hockey at Hobart College” stated Iasenza. “I’m looking forward to the next four years of my new journey. I’m grateful to my family, coaches, teammates, trainers and friends for their support. I can’t thank the Earley family for the two years that I spent in New Jersey, making me feel at home and part of the family” concluded Iasenza.
“What a great day to have Matty “Ice” commit to school” stated Titans head coach and general manager Craig Doremus. “Matt was a heart and soul player who gave everything he had during his two seasons in New Jersey. It was impressive to witness Matty last year as a rookie establish himself in such a prominent role on a veteran laden team. His work ethic, pace, tenacity, and demeanor were a perfect fit during his time here. His ability to play anywhere in our lineup and in all situations was a luxury for me as the Head Coach. I am jealous that a college coach will get to work with him for four years. We are so proud of his achievements thus far and we greatly look forward to following his career in college.”
Hobart College located in Geneva, NY. The Statemen are coached by Mark Taylor.
