Titans acquire Ryan Winter

Dec 1, 2018

The New Jersey Titans are excited to announce the acquisition of goaltender Ryan Winter from the Amarillo Bulls.

Winter is a 19-year-old goaltender from Owen Sound, Ontario. In seven games with the Bulls this season, Winter has a record of 4-0-0, a 2.10 goals against average and a .919 save percentage.

“We are excited to acquire Ryan and add him to our club. Ryan is an experienced junior goaltender who we believe can help carry our team into the Robertson Cup playoffs. Ryan has some good numbers in the NAHL and we are excited to add a goaltender of his caliber to our team.”

The acquisition will help the Titans, who will soon be losing Matt Ladd after his commitment to Canisius College. When talking about the move, Winter said he is excited to play in the Garden State.

“I’m very excited to start here. I had a good start in Amarillo and I’ll look to keep that going here and get some wins,” Winter said. “The guys here have welcomed me like I’ve been here since day one, and that’s all you can ask for when joining a new team.”

On Sept 22, Winter made 24 saves in the Bulls’ 3-2 win over the Titans in the North American Hockey League Showcase. He spoke about his impression of the team in the opening weeks of the season.

“I didn’t expect to play for them at any point, but they were pretty good when I faced them, so I’m glad I ended up here.”

Winter will be in the Titans’ lineup this weekend as they get ready for a two-game series against the Jamestown Rebels in Middletown Sports Complex. The first game is tonight at 7:30, and will be streamed on hockeytv.com.
