The New Jersey Titans are excited to announce the acquisition of forward Mitch Machlitt from the Corpus Christi IceRays.
Machlitt is a 19-year-old forward from Maple Grove, Minnesota and has 19 points (7g, 12a) in 24 games this season.
“We are excited to add Mitch to our forward group. He’s a good hockey player with a huge upside,” said Titans head coach Craig Doremus. “I believe he will add to an already impressive group of fire power up front. We are thrilled to add Mitch to our roster as we prepare for the stretch run of our season.”
Machlitt started the year with the Aberdeen Wings before playing in Corpus Christi. In his nine games with the IceRays, he recorded five goals and six assists for 11 points. When talking about his arrival in New Jersey, Machlitt hopes he continues his strong play wit hthe Titans.
“I am coming to the Titans to continue my success offensively, but more importantly to help this team win and climb the standings. Whether it is five-on-five or special teams, I intend to do whatever is asked of me to achieve the goals set by our team. As far as what the team can look for in my game, I am definitely offensively inclined with a shoot to score mentality,” Machlitt said. “Overall, I am thrilled to join the Titans and am going to continue to contribute statistically and whatever else is asked of me to get this team where we want to go!”
The 19-year-old forward will likely play with the Titans when they return for the 2019 portion of the season next week, as they visit the Northeast Generals on January 12 and 13.
