The Titans arrived in Minneapolis yesterday for the 18th annual NAHL Showcase that begins today and concludes on Saturday, September 18 at the Schawn Super Rink in Blaine, MN. The Titans will be playing the Amarillo Wranglers, Chippewa Steel, Austin Bruins and Wichita Falls Warriors.
Today’s game begins at 8:15PM (ET) against Amarillo, who are new to the league. The Showcase will be the start of the season for the Wranglers. Amarillo will be apart of the South Division.
The Red Buckets second game will be held on Thursday at 5:45PM (ET) against the Steel. Last season Chippewa finished the season in fifth place in Midwest Division with a 14-29-2-3 record for 33 points. They did not qualify for the playoffs. The Steel currently have a 2 – 0 record and lead their division.
The Bruins will “host” the Titans on Friday, September 17 at 12:15PM (ET). Last season the Bruins finished in fifth place in the Central Division with a 22-26-5-3 record for 52 points. They did not qualify for the playoffs. The Showcase will be the start of the season for Austin.
The Titans will conclude the Showcase on Saturday at 1:45PM (ET) against the Wichita Falls Warriors. Last season the Warriors finished in third place in the South Division with a 30-19-1-6 record for 67 points. Wichita Falls advanced to the South Division finals but fell to the Shreveport Mudbugs, the 2020-21 NAHL Champions. The Showcase will be the start of the season for the Warriors.
The Titans will enter this season’s event with an overall 14 – 6 record in five years. They went 3 – 1 during the 2019-20 season.
