The North American Hockey League announced its Bauer Hockey Divisional Stars of the Week for week ending March 6 and Titans goaltender Andrew Takacs was named the East Division’s second star of the week while forward Tommy Bannister was named honorable mention.
Takacs played extremely well throughout the weekend. In both games against the Rebels, he posted a combined .982 save percentage and 0.50 goals against average with the one shutout. Takacs’ third shutout is the most in a season that he has recorded in his junior career.
The Bowie, MD native leads the league in wins with 26, and he is seventh in the league with 2.35 goals against average and fourth with .922 save percentage.
This is the seventh time this season that the Colgate commit has received weekly/monthly league recognition. Takacs was honorable mention for weeks ending September 26 and January 16 and first star for weeks ending October 31 and February 20. He was honorable mention for goaltender of the month for October and December.
Bannister had three points (2 goals and 1 assist) this past weekend, with all three points being recorded in Friday’s 4 – 1 win. The Clayton, NY native leads the Red Buckets in total points with 54 (20 goas and 34 assists) and goals 20.
This is the sixth time that Bannister has received weekly/monthly league recognition. He was the East Division’s Second Star of the Week for week ending September 26, honorable mention for weeks ending October 17, 24 and November 7, and honorable mentioned for forward of the month for September.
