The North American Hockey League announced its Bauer Hockey Divisional Stars of the Week for week ending March 14 and Titans forward Nick Seitz was named the East Division’s first star of the week while fellow forward Matthew Iasenza was named honorable mention.
Seitz had seven points (6 goals and 1 assist) in three games last week. He had two goals in last Wednesday’s contest against Danbury, and he scored another pair in Friday’s 5 – 0 win over the Northeast Generals. He had a goal and an assist in Saturday’s 4 – 2 victory over the Generals.
“Nick has continued his strong play for us” stated Titans head coach Craig Doremus. “Since returning from an early season injury, he has been a consistent offensive threat. Nick’s game continues to grow with and without the puck and he has established himself as a leader amongst our group. He has stepped up big time with some injuries amongst our forwards. Him and his line mates have been a driving force for our offensive attack” said Doremus.
The New York, NY native leads the Titans with 31 total points (13 goals and 18 assists) and assists (18). He is tied for a team best +14. He has had a point in each of the last five games, and he has recorded a point in 22 of the 25 games in which he has played.
This is the second straight week (and fourth overall) that Seitz has received weekly/monthly league honors. Last week he was named honorable mention as well as for weeks ending February 7 and 14.
