Preseason Weekend Recap

Aug 28, 2023

The New Jersey Titans kicked off their preseason schedule with a pair of games against the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks this past weekend.  The Titans won both games, by scores of 7-3 and 8-3.  Dominick Rivelli led all New Jer sey scorers with 5 goals and an assist, including a four-goal effort on Saturday night.

Friday night’s game saw New Jersey jump out to a 2-1 lead at the end of the first period with goals from Matt Henry and Kristofers Krumins, two newcomers to the Titans.  The Titans would extend the lead to 4-2 after two periods with additional goals from rookies Kai Elkie and Jake Lindstrom.  In the third, Krumins would find the back of the net again, along with goals from Dominick Rivelli and Dominik Bartecko.  Zak Brice got the start and split the game with Dylan Krick.  Combined, they stopped 15 of 18 shots on goal.

New Jersey looked to keep the offensive momentum going into Saturday night, a task successfully completed with three goals in the first period.  Steven Kirkpatrick and Ryan Friedman found the back of the net at even strength, and Dominick Rivelli converted on a shorthanded breakaway.  Rivelli’s stick continued to heat up with two more shorthanded goals in the second period, giving the former Langley Riverman a hat trick.  Arhip Sidarovich connected as well in the frame, giving New Jersey a 6-2 lead going into the second intermission.  In the third, Rivelli and Jake Hillier added even strength goals, and the Titans topped the previous night’s score, winning the game 8-3.

The Titans now have one preseason game remaining, hitting the road to face the Philadelphia Rebels at 3:00pm on Wednesday, August 30th at the Hollydell Ice Arena in Sewell, NJ.  The game is currently scheduled to be streamed for free on the new NAHLtv service.
