Posma named NAHL’s East Division’s Star of the Week; Avezov is honorable mention

The North American Hockey League announced its Bauer Hockey Divisional Stars of the Week for week ending December 12 and Titans defenseman David Posma was named the East Division’s star of the week while forward Brandon Avezov was named honorable mention.

Posma had four points (1 goal and 3 assists) in during this past weekend’s sweep over the Johnstown Tomahawks. He assisted on all three Titans goals in Friday’s 3 – 1 win, and he had a goal in Saturday’s 6 – 5 come-from-behind victory.

“David has continued to progress throughout the season” said Titans head coach Craig Doremus. Since returning to our club earlier in the year he has been unreal for us on a day in and day out basis. David’s ability defensively and offensively has enhanced our team greatly. We are so proud of David and look forward to him continuing to lead our team as we approach the Robertson Cup Playoffs” concluded Doremus.

On the season, the Ponoma, NY native leads all Titans defensemen with 18 total points (7 goals and 11 assists) and goals (7).

This is the second time this season that Posma has received weekly/monthly league recognition. He was honorable mention for player of the week for week ending November 21.

Avezov had three points (1 goal and 2 assists) during this weekend’s series. He had a goal in Friday’s victory and two assists in Saturday’s win. He is seventh on the team with 18 total points (10 goals and 8 assists) in 23 games.

This is the second time this season that Avezov has received weekly/monthly league recognition. He was second star of the week for week ending September 19.
