New Jersey Titans Set to Open Pre-Draft Camp

May 19, 2016

The New Jersey Titans are ready to open up their NAHL Pre-Draft Camp this weekend starting Friday, May 20th and running through Sunday. The camp will host over 100 prospects and hopeful players from all over the world eager to get a crack at the opening night roster.

The weekend will be full of good, hard, competitive hockey with each player getting an opportunity to show off their abilities in front of the coaches and scouting staff. Players will come to camp physically and mentally prepared for each of their games and compete hard for the opportunity to get drafted or invited back to main camp in July.

“The camp part of the off season is a fun exciting times for players and coaches alike.  It’s a great opportunity for players to perform in front of coaches and scouts and hopefully end up getting drafted by an NAHL franchise.  It’s another great way to identify players for not only the draft but also for main camps later in the summer.  I know my staff and I are eagerly anticipating camp starting tomorrow at our home facility in Middletown, NJ.  It’s been a hectic week for us getting started but once the players hit the ice, that’s what it’s about.  Getting those young men on the ice competing for a roster spot with other elite athletes.  We look forward to seeing everyone at our building this weekend in New Jersey.”

The camp will consist of nine scrimmages featuring two twenty minute halves. In the event of a tie, games will be decided by a three-person shootout.

This is just the first of two pre-draft camps for the Titans. The second camp will be held June 3-5 in Farmington Hills, MI at Farmington Hills Suburban Ice. This will be the last chance to impress coaches and scouts prior to the NAHL Draft on June 7th. Registration for the camp is still open on the Titans website.
