The New Jersey Titans, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that forward Robert Hyde will be continuing his academic and hockey career at SUNY Cortland. The Cortland Red Dragons are a NCAA Division III ice hockey program who play in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC). He will be joining New Jersey Titans teammate, Brady Hildreth, and the Red Dragons in the fall of 2023.
In his short stint with New Jersey after coming over via trade from the Danbury Jr Hat Tricks in mid-October, the North Babylon, NY native recorded 17 total points (9 goals and 8 assists) in 25 games played.
“I would like to thank the coaching staff and everyone in Jersey for the warm welcome and pushing me to be the best form of myself.” Hyde continued by saying, “I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to play at Cortland this fall and to further my hockey and academic career!”
Head Coach and General Manager Craig Doremus shared his thoughts, “We are extremely proud of Robert and his family for his commitment to SUNY Cortland. Robert came to New Jersey via trade earlier this year and was a great compliment to our forward group. Unfortunately for Robert, he had his season end prematurely with an injury. I think Robert’s ceiling is extremely high and only wish we had him longer here in New Jersey. He was extremely coachable and brought good energy to the rink daily. Cortland is getting a difference maker with Robert. He will be a huge addition to their club, and I look forward to watching his career unfold at Cortland.”
SUNY Cortland is located in Cortland, NY. The Red Dragons are coached by Joe Cardarelli.
