New Jersey Acquires Defenseman Simon Becar from Corpus Christi

The New Jersey Titans, a proud member of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), would like to welcome Simon Becar to the Jersey Shore.

The New Jersey Titans have agreed to a trade with the Corpus Christi Ice Rays. Simon Becar, a left shot defenseman will make his way to the Titans, in return the Ice Rays have acquired a 2024 Tender and a 2024 4th round draft pick.

The University of Maine commit will join the Titans in the fall, for his last year of junior eligibility. He is scheduled to attend Maine in the fall of 2024, the Black Bears are located in Orono, ME and are coached by Ben Barr.

GM Craig Doremus commented on the trade, “We are extremely excited to add Simon to a strong group of defensemen for next season.  His experience at the junior and international levels will be a big addition to our team and our dressing room.  Simon is a very talented defenseman and we are excited to welcome him to New Jersey.”

Simon racked up 1 goal and 7 assists in 44 games with Corpus Christi during the 22-23 campaign. Becar also competed in the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship with his home country of Slovakia, totaling 1 point in 5 games played.
