EHL Jr. Titans forward Matt Meredith has committed to SUNY Brockport University for the fall of 2014. At 6’2” 185lbs the Fredonia, NY native has appeared in only 15 games for the Titans this season as he is currently returning from a mid-season injury. Meredith will be returning to his home state of New York as Brockport is located on the shores of Lake Ontario just outside beautiful Rochester.
Brockport competes in the SUNYAC and currently sits in seventh place with a 4-8-3 record overall. There are three teams from the SUNYAC currently ranked in the top 15 nationally, Plattsburgh #4, Oswego #11, and Geneseo #14. On committing to Brockport Meredith said, “I am very excited for next year. The SUNYAC is one of the best conferences in Division III hockey and there is a high standard for winning throughout the league. I have been in contact with Coach Dickinson and I want to thank him for believing in me and I look forward to playing for him for the next four years.”
Coach George Haviland said, “We are extremely proud of Matt and his commitment to SUNY Brockport. Matt is an outstanding citizen and important member of our club. He has a great work ethic and we wish him all the best next year at Brockport.” Meredith is the first commitment for the EHL Jr. Titans this season and there are more on the horizon.
The next EHL Titans home game is tomorrow night Saturday, January 24, 2014 at 7:00 PM at the Middletown Ice World. The Titans face off against the Philadelphia Revolution. Be There!
