The North American Hockey League announced its Bauer Divisional Stars of the Week for week ending September 15 and Titans forward Mitch Matchlitt was named the East Division’s player of the week while teammate Kyler Head was named honorable mentioned.

Matchlitt, a Division I NCAA commit to Army, had seven points (all assists) in New Jersey’s sweep over the Maryland Black Bears this past weekend. The Maple Grove, MN native had three assists in Friday’s 7 – 5 win and four assists in Saturday’s 8 – 5 victory.

“Mitch is a returning veteran player who we have high expectations of” stated Titans head coach Craig Doremus. “He’s a mature young man who had a great off-season of training and has really been good for us during camp. His offensive presence is critical to our success.  Him and his line mates got off to a good start in Maryland and we will need them to continue their play throughout the season if we are going to have sustained success,” concluded Doremus.

Head, a three-year Titans veteran, had four points (all goals) this past weekend. He scored a goal in Friday’s victory and recorded a natural hat trick in Saturday’s win.  All four of his goals were scored in the third period.
