The New Jersey Titans are proud to announce the commitment of defenseman Kyle Kim to the United States Military Academy at West Point. Kim has recorded 8 points as a stalwart defenseman in his first NAHL season, including 4 assists in his last 5 games. The Northville, Michigan native put up a goal and 4 assists last season for the Langley Rivermen of the BCHL.
“I am super excited and honored to take the opportunity to attend such a prestigious school,” said Kim. “It’s been an amazing journey, and committing to West Point is a highlight in this chapter of my life. It’s a decision my family and I spent many hours deliberating, but I am confident that it will turn out to be one of the best decisions I made for my future. I chose West Point because I knew it was the best place for me to grow as a person, and a place that will guide me to be the best version of myself.”
Kim added, “I’d like to thank my family for always being there by my side through life’s ups and downs, and to my teammates and coaches who have helped me so much in developing as a person both on and off the ice. I am very excited to see what the future holds.”
Kim becomes the second player on the 2023-24 Titans to commit to West Point, joining Alternate Captain Ryan Novo who committed last season. There, they will join Stephen Willey, the captain of the 2022 Robertson Cup Championship team. Army has been led by Head Coach Brian Riley for the past 20 seasons, where he has been named the Atlantic Hockey Coach of the Year four times, most recently in 2021.

He continued, “Kyle is an extremely bright young man and his commitment to West Point speaks volumes about his ability and talent both on and off the ice. He came to New Jersey this season extremely motivated to achieve his dream of playing Division I hockey while getting a high-end education. The fact he was able to achieve his commitment is demonstrative of his drive and motivation. We look forward to Kyle being a huge part of our blue line as we approach the Robertson Cup playoffs.
