Jeffers commits to AIC

The New Jersey Titans are excited to announce that forward Kyle Jeffers has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for American International College.

Jeffers is a native of Oviedo, Florida and is playing in his second season with the Titans. In his first 18 games this year, he recorded 13 goals and eight assists. In 76 career games with New Jersey, Jeffers has amassed 27 goals and 23 assists.

In addition to playing in the NAHL, Jeffers has worked his way up the NAPHL. In the 2015-16 campaign, he recorded 40 points (24g, 16a) in 25 games with the Titans’ 16U team. The following season, he notched 28 points (14g, 14a) in 22 games with the Titans’ 18U squad.

“We are extremely proud and happy for Kyle and his family. He is a long time New Jersey Titan, having spent time in the youth program before advancing up the ladder to the NAHL club,” said Titans head coach Craig Doremus. “Kyle’s relentless work ethic and desire has landed him in a great spot at AIC.”

American International College is a Division I school located in Springfield, Massachusetts. The Yellow Jackets compete in the Atlantic Hockey Conference and are coached by Eric Lang. Jeffers spoke about his commitment and expressed his excitement in joining AIC.

“It means a ton to me and my family to commit to such a great program that is on the rise,” Jeffers said. “I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of such a great program and school and can’t wait for the future.”

Jeffers also spoke about his development with the Titans over the last two seasons. He has been scoring at a torrid pace this year, having matched last year’s goal total in just 18 games.

“Over the summer I worked out and did a lot of on ice skills stuff that I thought could improve my game and bring me to the next level. Craig and Bobby put me through a lot of drills to improve my game from what they saw could be improved. Experience and confidence are also huge factors, as last year I was a younger guy with less of a role compared to this year where I have a bigger role.

“But the hot start is all credit to my teammates and linemates. I think so far we’ve put each other in places to succeed on and off the ice and I couldn’t be more thankful that I get to work with these kids every day. Obviously full credit goes to Craig and Bobby for all they’ve done for me and I couldn’t be more thankful and were looking forward to adding to the good start we’ve had so far this year.”

The Titans would like to congratulate Kyle and his family as he prepares to advance his hockey career to the Division I level.
