Harney named NAHL’s East Division’s second star of the week; Young is honorable mention

The North American Hockey League announced its Bauer Hockey Divisional Stars of the Week for week ending February 5 and Titans defenseman Joe Harney was named the East Division’s second star of the week while forward Michael Young was named honorable mention.

Harney had four total points (1 goal and 3 assists) during this past weekend’s sweep over the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks. He had a goal and two assists in Friday’s 5 – 4 overtime win. It was Harney’s goal with eleven seconds remaining in the extra period to give the Titans the victory. He has an assist in Saturday’s 4 – 3 win. On the season, the Needham, MA native had 18 total points (3 goals and 15 assists) in 40 game played.

Young had three total points (1 goal and 2 assists) in the two games. He had an assist in Friday’s contest and a goal and an assist in Saturday’s victory. On the season, the Kings Point, NY native leads the team in total points with 43 (17 goals and 26 assists) in 34 games. He also leads the team in goals (17).

This is the seventh time this season that Young has received weekly/monthly league recognition. He was named honorable mention for the East Division’s star of the week for week ending October 2; second star of the week for week ending November 6; first star weeks ending January 8 and 22; NAHL forward of the month for December and honorable mention for forward of the month for January.
