The North American Hockey League announced its Bauer Hockey Divisional Stars of the Week for week ending April 9 and forwards Brendan Dumas and Michael Young were named honorable mention for the East Division.
Dumas had four total points (2 goals and 2 assists) in this past weekend’s split with the Maine Nordiques. He had a goal in Friday’s 2 – 1 win, and he had a goal and two assists in Saturday’s overtime contest. On the season, the North Attleboro, MA native has 49 total points (17 goals and 32 assists) in 55 games.
This is the fourth time this season that the Sacred Heart University commit has received weekly/monthly league recognition. He was the East Division’s star of the week for the week ending October 2; he was honorable mention for week ending September 25, and he was honorable mention for forward of the month for October.
Young also had four total points (2 goals and 2 assists) this past weekend. He had a goal and an assist in Friday’s victory, and he had a goal and an assist in Saturday’s game. His goal in Saturday’s contest was his 27th on the season, which set a franchise record for most goals scored in a season. He is averaging 1.21 points per game, which ranks him fifth in franchise history.
The Princeton University commit leads the Titans with 58 total points (27 goals and 31 assists) and goals.
This is the ninth time this season that Young has received weekly/monthly league recognition. He was named honorable mention for the East Division’s star of the week for weeks ending October 2 and February 5; second star of the week for weeks ending November 6 and February 19; first star weeks ending January 8 and 22 and NAHL forward of the month for December as well as honorable mention for forward of the month in January.
