The North American Hockey League (NAHL) has announced its All-Division teams and honors for the 2021-22 season, and the New Jersey Titans were big winners within the East Division.
The Titans had three players named to the All-East Division team: forward Anthony Calafiore, defenseman David Posma and goaltender Andrew Takacs.
The Titans also were named the East Division’s organization of the year. It is the second time out of the past three season that the team earned this distinction.
Calafiore was second on the team with 59 total points (26 goals and 33 assists) yet he led the team in goals (26). He was nineteenth overall in the league in total points, and he was fourth in the league in +/- with a +33. He was a member of the East Division’s team during the 2022 Top Prospect’s Tournament. The University of Maine commit received weekly/monthly league honors five times this season. He was Second Star of the Week for weeks ending January 23 and November 7 and honorable mention for weeks ending April 10, December 5, and January 23.
Posma led all Titans defensemen with 40 total points (11 goals and 29 assists) and goals (11). He led the team and league in +/- with a +43. The Niagara University commit received weekly/monthly league honors twice this year. He was the East Division star of the week for week ending December 12, and he was honorable mention for player of the week for week ending November 21.
Takacs was a workhorse this season. He appeared in 42 games posting a 29-8-3-0 record with a 2.45 goals against average and .918 save percentage with three shutouts. He was second in the league in wins (29). The Colgate University commit received weekly/monthly league honors eight times this season. He was honorable mention for weeks ending September 26 and January 16 and first star for weeks ending October 31 and February 20. He was second star of the week for March 6, and he was honorable mention for goaltender of the month for October, December and March.
The remainder of the NAHL 2021-22 season awards including the All-NAHL Team, All-Rookie Team, Most Valuable Player, Forward of the Year, Defenseman of the Year, Vaughn Goaltender of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Coach of the Year, General Manager of the Year, Executive of the Year, Organization of the Year, Broadcaster of the Year, and Volunteer of the Year, along with the Academic Achievement Award, Leadership Award and Community Service Award, will be all be announced later in the week.
