The North American Hockey League announced its Bauer Hockey Divisional Stars of the Week for week ending February 26 and Titans goaltender Zak Brice was named the East Division’s star of the week while forward Ben Muthersbaugh was named honorable mention.

Brice was between the pipes in both games during this past weekend sweep over the Johnstown Tomahawks. He stopped a total of 55 shots between the two contests posting a 100% save percentage and 0.00% goals against average.

Friday night he had to make several Grade A saves – particularly in the first period – to keep the Titans in the game before the Red Buckets eventually won 4 – 0. He stopped 35 in the game earning his first shutout of the season. He turned aside all 20 shots in Saturday’s 6 – 0 win.

It was the first time in Titans franchise history that the Titans recorded back-to-back shutouts.

On the season, the Fairbanks, AK native has posted 2.41 goals against average and .917 save percentage with a 17-5-0 record.

“It was an impressive weekend by Zak. We were flat on Friday night through the first two periods and he was the only reason we stayed within striking distance of Johnstown. He came up huge for us while we got our game in order and we were able to come away from the weekend with four big points.  Zak has been rock solid for us throughout the year and we look forward to him continuing to lead us as we pursue the Robertson Cup Playoffs,” said Titans head coach Craig Doremus.

This is the fourth time this season that Brice has received weekly/monthly league recognition. He was honorable mention for the East Division’s star of the week for week ending September 25 and second star of the week for weeks ending November 20 and 27.

Muthersbaugh had three total points (1 goal and 2 assists) this past weekend. He had an assist in Friday’s game, and he had a goal and an assist in Saturday’s victory.

On the season, the Gilford, NH native has a total of 27 points (15 goals and 12 assists) in 43 games played.

This is the second time this season that Muthersbaugh has received weekly/monthly league recognition. He was star of the week for week ending October 23.
