Brice named NAHL’s East Division’s star of the week; Brednich is honorable mention

The North American Hockey League announced its Bauer Hockey Divisional Stars of the Week for week ending March 26 and Titans goaltender Zak Brice was named the East Division’s star of the week while forward Reece Brednich was named honorable mention.

Brice was between the pipes in both games during this past weekend’s critical road sweep over the Maine Nordiques. He stopped 58 of 62 shots for a .940 save percentage and posted a 2.00 goals against average.

“Zak continued his strong play for us this past weekend” said Titans head coach and general manager Craig Doremus. “Since returning from an early season Illness, he has really found himself and solidified himself as one of the best goaltenders in the league.  He was huge for us in each game providing big games at critical moments.  He is the backbone of our club, and we look forward to him continuing his strong play as we pursue a birth in the Robertson Cup Playoffs,” concluded Doremus.

On the season, the Fairbanks, AK native has a 21-8-3 record with a .921 save percentage and a 2.32 goals against average with three shutouts.

This is the sixth time this season that Brice has received weekly/monthly league recognition. He was honorable mention for the East Division’s star of the week for week ending September 25 and second star of the week for weeks ending November 20 and 27. He was star of the week for week ending February 26. He was honorable mention for goalie of the month in February.

Brednich had three total points (1 goal and 2 assists) this weekend. He had a pair of assists in Friday’s 5 – 3 victory and he scored the game winner in Saturday’s 2 – 1 victory.

The Lagrange, KY native has 19 total points (6 goals and 13 assists) in 47 games this season.
