Forward Michael Young to Continue His Development at Princeton University

The New Jersey Titans, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that forward Michael Young will be continuing his development at Princeton University. The Princeton University Tigers are an NCAA Division I ice hockey program who play in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). His continued development begins in the fall of September 2023. In two seasons with the Red Buckets, the Kings Point, NY native has tallied 98 total points (46 goals and 52 assists) in 92 games played. This season he currently leads the team with 49 total points (22 goals and 27 assists) and goals (22) in 36 games. He is seventh in the league in total points. Young ranks fifth in franchise history with total points (98), and he is ranked fourth in team history with 46 goals. He recently was a member of the NAHL’s East Division’s Top Prospect Team earning an assist in two games played. This season Young has received weekly/monthly league recognition eight times. He was named honorable mention for the East Division’s star of the week for weeks ending October 2 and February 5; second star of the week for weeks ending November 6 and February 19; first star weeks ending January 8 and 22 and NAHL forward of the month for December as well as honorable mention for forward of the month in January. “I am proud and honored to continue my athletic and academic career at Princeton University” said Young. “I would like to thank all of my family, friends and coaches who have helped me along the way. More specifically I would like to thank Craig Doremus, Bobby DiRico, and Kyle Shapiro for giving me the opportunity to be a New Jersey Titan. I am looking forward to making another run at the Robertson Cup” stated Young. “This is a very special day and announcement for Michael Young, his family and the New Jersey Titans” said head coach and general manager Craig Doremus. “Michael is an incredible young man who arrived in Middletown from day one last season and worked his butt off ever since. He has put in hours and hours of work both on and off the ice to help him achieve this dream. Michael’s academic background and on ice ability are a perfect fit with Princeton. Michael joins former Titans’ forward Nick Seitz at Princeton. We couldn’t be more happy or proud of Michael and his family on this achievement. We look forward to him being a huge part of our pursuit of another Robertson Cup title” concluded Doremus. Princeton University is in Princeton, NJ. The Tigers are coached by Ron Fogarty.
