Weekend Preview: 11/15 – 11/16/19 – Black Bears visit Titans for two games

The Maryland Black Bears visit Middletown Sports Complex to play two games against the New Jersey Titans. The first game will be played on Friday, November 15 at 7:30 PM while the second game will be played on Saturday, November 16 at 7:00 PM.

Titans and Black Bears Overview
The Titans opened the season in mid-September playing two away games against the Black Bears, both games the Titans won by a combined score of 15 to 10. Mitch Machlitt has the most points against Maryland with seven (all assists) while Kyler Head has scored the most goals with four. The Titans are 4 for 8 (50%) with the man advantage. Patrick Puglies and Arseni Sergeev have a combined .852 save percentage and 5.00 goals against average against Maryland.

Maryland’s William Skoog has the most points against the Titans with six (4 goals and 2 assists). He also has scored the most goals against New Jersey with four. Titans Overview
The Titans currently lead the East Division with a 15 – 2 record for 30 points – most in the NAHL. Although last weekend they had a bye week, the Titans last game was a 4 – 3 overtime home win against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights. The Titans have won ten straight games. They have scored 82 goals (most in the league) and have allowed 44 (seventh best in the league). The Titans also lead the league on the power play having converted on 36.1% of their chances while they have prevented the opposition from scoring on the penalty kill 90.5% of the time (fourth best in the league).

Machlitt leads the team in total points with twenty-four (11 goals and 13 assists), goals (11), game winning goals (3) and +/- with a +15.  Brody Medeiros has the most penalty minutes on the team with twenty-three.

The goaltending tandem of Pugliese (2.38 GAA and .920 SV%) and (2.66 GAA and .920 SV%) have a combined 2.50 goals against average and .920 save percentage with one shutout (Pugliese).
