Young named NAHL’s East Division’s star of the week; Keresztes is honorable mention

The North American Hockey League announced its Bauer Hockey Divisional Stars of the Week for week ending March 13 and Titans forward Michael Young was named the East Division’s star of the week while fellow forward Levente Keresztes was named honorable mention.

Young had five points (2 goals and 3 assists) during this past weekend’s sweep over the Maine Nordiques in which the Titans came from behind in both contests to win in overtime. Young had a goal and two assists in Friday’s 4 – 3 victory and a goal in Saturday’s improbable 7 – 6 overtime comeback win.

“Michael continued his strong play this past weekend” said Titans head coach Craig Doremus. “Michael has continued to grow and progress throughout his first season of junior hockey. He has really come on strong for our team and he is a big part of our group in all phases of the game. He had another big weekend for us in Maine as we had to battle from behind each night,” concluded Doremus.

On the season, the Kings Park, NY native is overall fifth on the team in total points with 41 (18 goals and 23 assists).

This is the fourth time this season that Young has received weekly/monthly league honors. He was honorable mention for weeks ending February 27, February 6 and October 10.

Keresztes had four points (3 goals and 1 assist) this weekend with all four points coming in Saturday’s victory. He third goal that completed his hat trick with 3:16 remaining in regulation tied the contest and send it into overtime.

On the season, the Budapest, Hungry native is eighth on the team in total points with 29 (13 goals and 16 assists).

This is the first time this season that Keresztes has received weekly/monthly league recognition.
