Weekend Preview: 11/22 – 11/23/19 – Titans to host Nordiques for two games

The Maine Nordiques will be traveling to Middletown Sports Complex this weekend to take on the East Division leading New Jersey Titans. The first game will be played on Friday, November 22 at 7:30 PM while the second game will take place on Saturday, November 23 at 7:00 PM.

Titans and Nordiques Overview
These teams met a month ago to open the Titans home schedule. The Titans won both games by a combined score of 11 – 3. Cannon Green has the most points against the Titans with two (both assists) while three different players have scored a goal. Maine went 1 for 8 (13%) on the power play. The Nordiques goaltenders had a 5.50 goals against average and .792 save percentage.

Brody Medeiros has the most points against Maine with four (1 goal and 3 assists) while Josef Glamos and Mitch Machlitt each have scored two goals. The Titans went 1 for 3 (33%) on the power play. Patrick Pugliese and Arseni Sergeev have a combined 1.50 goals against average and .946 save percentage against the Nordiques.

Nordiques Overview
Maine currently is in fifth place in the East Division with a 10-10-1 record for 21 points, twelve points behind the Titans. They have won four of their last ten games, and they are coming off a 6 – 3 home loss to the Johnstown Tomahawks. The Nordiques have scored 72 goals (fifth best in the league) while they have allowed 75 (twentieth in the league). Maine has converted on 22% of their chances on the power play (tenth in the league) while they have prevented their opposition from scoring 79.5% (fifteenth in the league) on the penalty kill.

Noah Kane has the most points on the team with 24 (9 goals and 15 assists). He also has scored the most goals with nine. Makem Demers has scored the most game winning goals with three. Isaiah Fox leads the team in penalty minutes with 105 while Fox also has a team best +6.

Titans Overview
The Titans currently lead the East Division with a 16-2-1 record for 33 points – tied for most in the NAHL. New Jersey has won nine of its last ten games, and they are coming off an 8 – 6 home win against the Maryland Black Bears. They have scored 93 goals (most in the league) and have allowed 54 (tenth in the league). The Titans also lead the league on the power play having converted on 33.8% of their chances while they have prevented the opposition from scoring on the penalty kill 89.6% of the time (sixth best in the league).

Machlitt leads the team in total points with twenty-six (12 goals and 14 assists), goals (12), game winning goals (3) and +/- with a +15.  Kyler Head and Mac Wiseman each have thirty penalty minutes to lead the team.

The goaltending tandem of Pugliese (2.72 GAA and .914 SV%) and Sergeev (2.66 GAA and .920 SV%) have a combined 2.70 goals against average and .914 save percentage with one shutout (Pugliese).

Friday night it’s $1 Hot Dog night. Saturday night the Titan will be having a food drive. Any fan who brings a non-perishable food item will receive $3 off an adult ticket (regularly $8).
