Walker Commits to Union

Mar 23, 2014

The Junior Titans are proud to announce that Ryan Walker ('97 F) has committed to Union College, the #1 ranked college hockey team in the country. The Dutchmen (26-6-4), coming off their third-straight Whitelaw Cup title, moved into the top spot in the USCHO.com poll after spending two weeks in the No. 2 position. Union has spent 15 weeks in the top 10, and is holding steady at No. 2 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll. The Division I program has won the ECAC Conference 3 years in a row, and is the number one seed in the East Regional of the NCAA tournament.

Ryan, who set numerous club and league records with his scoring this season in both the NAPHL and the AYHL has played with the club since he was a mite. Walker's 136 regular season points were accumulated primarily with linemates Matt Kidney (93p) and Michael Gelatt (71p) who combined with Ryan for a 300 pt regular season.

Coach George Haviland said of the Spotswood HS Junior "Ryan is a real special kid. He has worked very hard and will work harder to capitalize on the opportunity he has earned. Its a great day for the program. Anybody that knows the Jr. Titan family loves Ryan and recognizes what a great teammate he is." Congratulations!
