Titans Sweep Showcase with Shootout Win

The New Jersey Titans continued their success at the NAHL Showcase, capturing their fifth straight victory by defeating the Wichita Falls Wildcats 4-3 in a shootout.

Adam Goodsir got the Wildcats on the board first, scoring with a approximately four minutes to play in the first period. Rourke Russell and Ben Lown each added assists.

New Jersey would tie things up in the second with a Bruno Birzitis power play goal that was assisted by Andrew Durham and Adam Hascic. However, 11 minutes later, Wichita Falls regained the advantage .

Jake Dalton took a feed from Noah Gilreath and placed it past Titans goalie Jack Berry with less than six minutes to play in the second period.

Raymond Brice tied the game with an unassisted goal four minutes into the period and Jesse Farabee would score a power play goal to give New Jersey a 3-2 lead.

The Wildcats answered seconds later when Nikita Litviak scored to knot the score again. Both teams failed to score before in the new 3-on-3 overtime format so the game went to a shootout. Keegan Miller backhanded the puck past Wichita Falls goalie Julian Sime to win the game.

Berry stopped all three Wildcats shooters and saved 33 pucks on 36 Wildcat volleys. For Berry, it was his second win on the year. The Titans return to Middletown Friday Oct. 2 against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights.
