Titans Selected to the USHL

The USHL held it’s annual entry draft last night, and the NJ Titans organization is very proud to watch two of it’s own selected yesterday.  Titan U16 National Defenseman Trevor Heuser was the youngest player selected by the Des Moines Buccaneers, and former Titans MJHL Defenseman Dan O’Keefe was chosen by the Muskegon Lumberjacks.

Heuser, a ‘96 born defensemen who was a key cog this season for the Titan U16 National team that finished second in the North American Prospect Hockey League as well as the Atlantic Youth Hockey League had already been tendered for the upcoming season with the Corpus Christi Ice Rays of the NAHL.

Heuser had this to say on being drafted, “Being a part of the Titans organization has been a major part of my development.  I have had a great experience here playing with the Titans.  Being here has given me the opportunity and the exposure I needed to get to the next level as a player.  I am honored to have been a part of the Titans organization.

O’Keefe, a ‘94-born defenseman goes a long way back as a Titan.  O’Keefe a Titan through many of his youth years eventually reached the peak with the Titans as a member of the MJHL team where O’Keefe played a major role for two seasons including a run to the National semi finals in 2009-10.  During O’Keefe’s time with the Titan Junior team, he was drafted by the Peterborough Petes of the OHL.  O’Keefe will play for Muskegon before he is off to honor his college commitment for the Yale University Bulldogs.

"When I was in first grade my family moved to Wall NJ – which turned out to be very fortunate for me. Little did I know we just moved to the perfect place for a mite hockey player to be, since the Titans organization was right 5 minutes from my new house. This gave me the chance to play against top competition, since the Titans were one of the few youth hockey organizations in the state that fielded AAA teams. I later had the chance to play junior hockey on one of the few junior teams in New Jersey. But most importantly, George, Dustin and Randy really pushed me to develop my skills and opened my eyes up to the fact that a Titan player could go as far in the hockey world as his hard work and dedication would take him."
