The New Jersey Titans, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that forward Brendan Dumas has committed to play NCAA Division I Ice Hockey for the Sacred Heart University Pioneers who play in the Atlantic Hockey Conference (AHC). His commitment begins in September of 2023.

Dumas, 20, is in his second season with the Titans. In 73 games played he has earned 75 total points (25 goals and 50 assists). During his first season with the Titans, the North Attleboro, MA native had 58 points (20 goals and 38 assists) in 59 games. He had seven points (4 goals and 3 assists) in 13 playoff games last year including the first and eventual game winner in the 2022 Robertson Cup National Championship game. He also was named to the All-Robertson Cup tournament team.

This season Dumas has 17 points (5 goals and 12 assists) in 14 games. He currently leads the team in points.

“I am honored and excited to announce my commitment to attend and play NCAA D1 college hockey at Sacred Heart University” stated Dumas. “I want to thank my parents, grandparents and family for their support. I am grateful to all my coaches who have helped me achieve my goals” said Dumas.

“We are so proud of Brendan and his family on his tremendous accomplishment” said Titans head coach and general manager Craig Doremus. “”Dumer” has worked extremely hard over the past 15 or so months as a Titan to improve his game and it was only a matter of time before a college was willing to invest in his career. Brendan has been a driving offensive force for our team since day one. He played his best hockey on the biggest of stages last year during the playoffs and especially at the Robertson Cup finals in May. Brendan returned this year and has had a great start to the early season. In addition to his on-ice production, Brendan was also recently named assistant captain of our team. His energy, passion and work ethic are great examples for our younger players to learn from. We look forward to Brendan and his fellow captains helping to lead our team back to the Robertson Cup playoffs this year” concluded Doremus.

Sacred Heart University is in Fairfield, CT. The Pioneers are coached by C.J. Marottolo.
