Titans Cap Off Successful NAPHL Season at NAPHL Top Prospects Event

Howell, NJ – The NJ Jr Titans capped off a successful season in the NAPHL by sending 7 players to the NAPHL Top Prospects Event.  The players who attended were Nikita Samoylov, Ryan Price, Chris Wuestneck, Ryan Burr, Tim Gelatt, Dominic de la Guardia, and Joe Licata.

 

All players had an impact on the weekend as the group, playing for Team East opened up the event with a win over Team Michigan 4-3.  In this game, Price netted a goal from Samoylov, while Licata had 7 saves in the win.

 

In Game 2, the Titan contingent factored heavily in a 4-3 win over California as Wuestneck and Samoylov scored goals, while Samoylov, Gelatt, and Price picked up helpers.  Licata stopped 11 shots in the win.

 

In Game 3, Team East suffered a resounding 7-2 setback where Licata was able to stop 5 saves, as the East offense was shut down.

 

In the Final Game against Team California, the East team came out with a resounding message and defeated California 5-1.  Wuestneck and Samoylov picked up goals and assists as well as Price who picked up two helpers, while Licata stopped 12 shots.

 

All in all on the weekend, Samoylov finished with 5 points, Price with 4, Wuestneck with 3, and Gelatt with 1, while Burr and de la Guardia were defensive rocks all weekend long with their strong play in zone.  Licata ended up with 35 saves on the weekend.  It was a strong event, and furthermore showing the growing presence the Jr Titans have on the National Hockey Scene.
