Titans announce rescheduled dates for 2020 pre-draft and main camps

Due to COVID-19 the New Jersey Titans have had to reschedule their 2020 pre-draft and main camp dates.  Both camps will be held at the Middletown Sports Complex in Middletown, New Jersey.

The pre-draft camp will be held from July 10 – 12 (originally scheduled for May 29 – 31). The camp is opened for birth years 2000 – 2004. To register, please click here.

The Lewiston, NY camp, scheduled for June 27 – 28 has been cancelled.

The main camp (originally scheduled for July 13 – 16) will be held from August 3 – 6. This is an invitation only camp.

Titans Forward Shane Haviland makes NCAA commitment to Elmira College

The New Jersey Titans, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that forward Shane Haviland has committed to play NCAA Division III Ice Hockey for the Elmira College Soaring Eagles, who play in the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC). His commitment begins in the fall of 2020.

Haviland, 20, a lifelong member of the Titans Youth Hockey Program, played two seasons with the NAHL club and had 43 points (11 goals and 32 assists) in 74 regular season games. This year the Sea Girt, NJ native had 33 points (8 goals and 25 assists) in 43 contests.

“I would like to thank the Titans organization for everything they have done for me, especially the ownership group of George Haviland and Jimmy Solovey” stated Haviland. “I also would like to thank my coaches – Craig, Bobby, Shaps and the rest of the staff for giving me the opportunity to play hockey at a high level and at home. And last, but not least, I would like to thank my teammates, who I call brothers. I would not be where I am today without them” concluded Haviland.

“We are so proud of and happy for Shane on his commitment to Elmira College” stated Titans head coach and general manager Craig Doremus. “In Shane’s two seasons with us he was a big part of our forward group and contributed so much offense for us. Shane will be a great player at Elmira, and we look forward to following his career there. We wish him and his family nothing but continued success” concluded Doremus.

Elmira College located in Elmira, NY.  The Soaring Eagles are coached by Aaron Saul. This past season Elmira had an overall 17-8-1 record.

Titans add Chris Collins to scouting department

The New Jersey Titans have announced today that the team has added Chris Collins to its scouting department.

“Chris is a longtime friend” stated Director of Scouting Matt Dibble. “He and I share a lot of similarities in our desire to help kids move on through the proper channels so they can pursue whatever their goals are. I’m excited to have him help us grow our outreach and get more eyes on players” concluded Dibble.

“Chris’ reputation in the game as a player and a coach is second to none” said Assistant Coach and Assistant General Manager Bobby DiRico. “We are excited to add someone as knowledgeable as Chris, and we are looking forward to him helping us continue to build our footprint in Western New York where we already have had a lot of success” concluded DiRico.

A native of Rochester, NY, Chris Collins was a standout player at Boston College (NCAA DI). His senior year, he led the nation in scoring and was runner-up for the Hobey Baker Award. After graduation, he signed an NHL contract with the Boston Bruins and played in the American Hockey League (AHL) for the Providence Bruins. Chris went on to have an eight-year professional career, signing with two different NHL organizations and playing in both the Finish and German Elite Leagues. After retiring in 2013-14, Chris returned to Rochester and Co-founded The Evolve Sports Group, a Rochester based training company specializing in Player Development and Advancement. Additionally, Chris founded the Rochester Coalition (ROCO) Midget Program which in its third season, has quickly become a success. ROCO teams are consistently ranked as a part of the top-20 teams in the nation and have placed numerous players into Division I programs.

Titans announce Open Camp for June 27 – 28 at Dwyer Arena

The New Jersey Titans have announced today that the team has added an open camp for June 27 – 28 at the Dwyer Arena in Lewiston, NY.

Titans to launch “Coach’s Corner” on November 27

The Titans will be launching the “Coach’s Corner” on Wednesday, November 27. The moderator will be play-by-play announcer Anthony DiPaolo, and it will feature either head coach Craig Doremus or assistant coach Bobby DiRico. There will be special guest speakers, a question and answer segment via Twitter, recaps, interviews and more.

The “Coach’s Corner” will be held every Wednesday until the end of the regular season. The Coach’s Corner will be posted on the website, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook.
