Jan 25, 2022

The North American Hockey League (NAHL) announced today the rosters for its Top Prospects Tournament which will be held from February 7-8, 2022 at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania. Four Titans have been selected to play for the East Division in this tournament: Tommy Bannister, Anthony Calafiore, Brendan Dumas, and Nick Ring. Titans head coach Craig Doremus will be the assistant coach for the East Division.

Bannister leads the Red Buckets with 44 total points (16 goals and 28 assists) and goals (16). Calafiore is third on the team with 4o total points (7 goals and 33 assists). Dumas is second on the team in total points with 41 (14 goals and 27 assists). Ring, who is on the NHL Central Scouting Watch, has 23 total points (7 goals and 16 assists).

Despite being in first place at the time of selection, Craig Doremus will serve as the East Division’s assistant coach to Maryland’s Clint Mylymok since the Black Bears had a better winning percentage.

“I am extremely excited for our players who were selected to participate in the NAHL Top Prospects event” said Doremus. “It is one of the premier events not only in our league, but I believe across junior hockey.  The NAHL league office and staff in conjunction with each of the owners in the league do a tremendous job on the showcase.  It is a great platform and event for our players to compete with other great players throughout the league.  It is especially nice to be having this event in the typical February time frame for players still seeking their college commitment.  I am honored to be selected to be one of the coaches for the Eastern Division and I look forward to working with Clint and all of the talented young men who will represent the Eastern Division” concluded Doremus.

The number of players each NAHL team is sending to the tournament, in which four teams from the four NAHL divisions: Central, East, Midwest and South, will each play in two game games, was based on each team’s winning percentage within their group as of January 10, 2022. Only those NAHL players without an NCAA commitment are eligible to participate in the 2022 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament, except for those who have been identified by NHL Central Scouting as prospects for the 2022 NHL Draft. Each team is comprised of 22 players (13 forwards, 7 defensemen, 2 goalies).
