Charette and Young named honorable mention for NAHL’s East Division’s Star of the Week

The North American Hockey League announced its Bauer Hockey Divisional Stars of the Week for week ending February 27 and Titans goaltender Ben Charette and forward Michael Young were named honorable mention for the East Division.

Charette went 1 – 1 during this past weekend’s split with the Maine Nordiques. Between the two games he stopped 50 of 53 shots for a .943 save percentage and 1.50 goals against average. In Friday’s 7 – 2 win, Charette turned aside 23 of 25 shots, and he then stopped 27 of 28 in Saturday’s contest.

On the season, the Aurora, ON native has appeared in 13 games posting a 7 – 3 record with a 2.68 goals against average and .912 save percentage with no shutouts.

Young scored four unanswered goals in Friday’s victory. This is the second time this season that Young has scored a minimum of three goals in a game against the Nordiques. In 41 games this year, the Kings Park, NY native at 33 total points (16 goals and 17 assists).

This is the third time this season that Young received weekly/monthly league honors. He was honorable mention for weeks ending February 6 and October 10.
