Titans Send 7 to USHL Combine

Apr 27, 2014

Select Titans players will travel to Chicago, Illinois for the USHL Combine this weekend. The United States Hockey League (USHL) is the only Tier 1 Junior hockey league in the country. Currently the USHL has 239 alumni playing in the NHL and 307 Division I NCAA Commitments playing in the league. The Combine is scouted by USHL Player Development staff as well as NCAA coaches. Players will play in four games and be run through a series of off-ice physical and cognitive testing. Needless to say this is a great opportunity for our Titans players.

Representing the club will be Ryan Walker, Matt Chinnici, Tim Gelatt, Mike Gelatt, Michael Cernero, and Brad Becker. Shawn Biley participated last weekend as the USHL Combine that was held for ’98 birth years only. All of these players will represent the Titans U18AAA team for upcoming season. Franchise owner and Director of Hockey Operations George Haviland said, “This is an amazing opportunity for these players as they represent the Titans and the entire state of New Jersey at the USHL Combine. This is an accomplishment not only for these individual players but for our organization as a whole. Our representation in the best junior league in the country is a testament to the hard work of our players, our coaching staff, and the entire Titans Family.”

The USHL Combine takes place this weekend May 1 – 4. Stayed tuned to www.jrtitans.com and/or follow us on Instagram and twitter @jr_titans for updates.
