TITANS OVERCOME MAGICIANS 4-2

Sep 24, 2015

BLAINE, Minn – The New Jersey Titans used three unanswered goals to defeat the Minnesota Magicians Thursday at Schwan Super Rink.

New Jersey scored the first goal of the game ten minutes into the first. Raymond Brice found room above the glove side of Minnesota goal Vaughn Ahrens and made it 1-0 New Jersey. Dan Weaver and Darren Brady assisted on Brice's first goal of the season.

The Magicians rallied late in the frame as Travis Brown sent one past Titans goalie Spencer Wright with 19.7 seconds left to play, tying the contest at 1-1.

Minnesota added another goal from Jack Christensen early in the second but that goal was quickly answered by Anthony Cusanelli resulting in a 2-2 tie.

With less than five minutes to play in the middle period, New York native Jesse Farabee would capitalize on a Cusanelli 2-on-1 pass to make it 3-2 Titans. Brady would pick up the other helper.

The Titans withheld the Minnesota offensive charge throughout the third before Keegan Miller scored on the power-play to seal the victory for New Jersey. Brady registered his third assist on the Miller goal. Bruno Birzitis also assisted.

Spencer Wright picked up his first win in his NAHL career, stopping 23 of 25 Magicians shots. The Titans went 1-5 on the man advantage and a perfect 4-for-4 on the penalty kill.

The Titans play the Topeka Roadrunners Friday afternoon at 2:15pm in day three of the NAHL Showcase.
