Titans and Training Come Together at Elite Development

May 23, 2014

Middletown, NJ – A dream became a vision, and that vision became a reality at Middletown Ice World and Middletown Sports Complex.  A true training center geared towards the training and development of elite athletes.  That is precisely the goal of the Elite Development Training Center. The Training Center, which is located on the second floor of Middletown Ice World is that dream and vision that became reality the first week of May.

The Elite Development Training Center which offers a training program that can be geared towards specific areas of development goes hand-in-hand with the goals and ideals of the Titans Program.  Under the direction of Titans Coach, Former NCAA and Minor Pro Athlete Adam Houli who is the Director of the Elite Development Training Center, the center was able to find a strong balance between the physical training aspect of the gym that relates and correlates to the Development of the Elite and Developing Hockey Player.  Assisting Adam is Brendon Herr, a former NCAA player at Lebanon Valley College.  Herr was a four year letter winner at Lebanon Valley.  After his playing career, Herr coached with Wyoming Seminary Prep School as well as at Lebanon Valley.  Prior to joining Elite Development, Herr was the Head Trainer at the Extra Edge Academy located in Morristown, NJ.

The training center features a number of bikes, treadmills, core exercise balls, medicine balls, plyometric training devices, dumbells, bench press, leg press, and weight machines for strong core development.  While many programs incorporate off-ice training, none of these programs are able to match the overall collection of advantages offered to the Titans program through Elite Development.  In addition to the on-ice program, each Titans player incorporates strength and core training with Elite Development as well as through EDT's Elite Hockey Program which incorporates specific training geared towards improving the player's on ice performance through speed and agility training in addition to everything covered in other workouts.

With each Titan receiving 24 sessions with Elite Development over the course of the Summer months, expectations have never been higher for the fastest growing Junior and Youth Hockey program in New Jersey.  None of these expectations or none of this growth would ever be possible however, if it weren't for the dream and vision that became the reality that is the Elite Development Training Center.
