Ryan Cruthers
Director of Scouting

Prior to joining the Titans as Director of Scouting, Ryan’s hockey career began playing NCAA Division I hockey at West Point for the United States Military Academy and then Robert Morris University from 2003-2008. While at Robert Morris he earned his degree in Sports Management. He was also named College Hockey America Player of the Year and was a Hobey Baker Nominee for top NCAA Men’s Ice Hockey player. Following college hockey, Ryan spent eight years playing professional hockey in the AHL and ECHL for teams such as the Reading Royals, Orlando Solar Bears, and the Hershey Bears. While in the ECHL he was named to the All-Star team.

Ryan currently resides in Waxhaw, North Carolina with his wife Julie and 4-year-old son Blake and 1-year-old son Brady. He currently is the General Manager and Head Coach of the Charlotte Rush of the USPHL.

Gary Biggs
Goalie Coach

A native of Bridgewater, NJ, Gary Biggs began his hockey career playing for the Titans organization and playing high school hockey for Bridgewater-Raritan High school. Gary was the 2007 high school player of the year and was a two time all state goaltender. Prior to attending Youngstown State University Gary spent two seasons playing Junior Hockey for the Titans organization guiding them to two straight playoff appearances. While at Youngstown State University Gary was a four year starter and is the University’s all-time wins leader. After his playing career, Gary spent two seasons as an assistant at The College of New Jersey and four years at Hillsborough High School. Gary is currently the Head Coach of Seton Hall University Ice Hockey program and the Northeast Scout for the Barrie Colts of the OHL.

Chris Zarb

The Royal Oak, MI native finished his second year of coaching AAA in Detroit for Little Caesars Hockey Club. Zarb played professional hockey for five years, two years in the AHL and ECHL and his last three years were in Europe. In 2004, he was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 5th round (144th overall) of the NHL entry draft. Played collegiately at Ferris State University before signing with the Philadelphia Phantoms of the AHL. Played in Europe for the Dundee Stars and the Villard De Lans. He was also a scout for the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the USHL prior to joining the Titans.

Matt Dibble
NAPHL/ North East Scout

A native of Buffalo, NY, Matt is excited to be back for his second season with the New Jersey Titans Program. Prior to his time with the Titans, Matt spent a year as a special consultant for the WB/Scranton Knights of the NAHL and as a scout for the Rochester Jr. Americans of the USPHL. Matt owns and operates Roc City Elite Hockey (summer hockey), and attends all the big summer events. He has worked directly with many NAHL players that have seen success and reached an NCAA level, and is happy to continue to do that with the Titans. Matt is excited to help the Titans identify players in the Northeast Region, including NY, MA, PA, CT, and Canada. Additionally, Matt will help with direct oversight of the NAPHL, attending multiple NAPHL events.

Alec Austin

Originally from Florida, Alec started his “AAA” hockey career under Vlad Chermata, a top level Russian Army player in the late 1980s, and one of the famous Sutter brothers, Duane Sutter. Alec was then recruited to play for the Cleveland Barons. After the Barons, Alec joined one of the top organizations in the country, Little Caesars U16 midget minor who ended up winning the national championship in 2008, with notable players like Rocco Grimaldi and Mike Houser. Alec then tendered in OJHL, with the Wellington Dukes in 2010 after almost winning another National Championship at the Tier I AAA program with Team Maryland.

After juniors, Alec committed to Wisconsin Superior. Alec has been a scout in the NAHL for the last two years and has helped with advising players since he was 18 years old. He is also a current 1L at Minnesota and graduated with honors from Hamline University.  He has extensive knowledge in the Junior A, AAA and college hockey world and has dedicated his life to helping kids through the difficult path of junior hockey. He has helped many clients complete their dreams to play division one hockey and major junior and is planning on being a certified agent and attorney after passing the bar.
