Dec 21, 2010

Howell, NJ (December 22, 2010)-In a thrilling occasion for all NJ Junior Titan families, players, and coaches, the Titans christened the brand new Howell Ice World with team practices beginning on Tuesday, December 21thThe moment was a long time coming for the Titans organization, which paves the way for the Titans to have one of the premier ice skating facilities in New Jersey.

Ice World, which was approved for construction in March, eventually began to take shape with construction on the state of the art facility in April.  Ice World, owned by George Haviland and run by the Ice World Consulting group, was the vision of many years of planning to eventually give the Titans their own home, exclusive to the Titans organization.

Titan Junior Head Coach and Hockey Director Dustin DePalma commented on the opening and significance of Ice World being an exclusive home to the Titans, “We are very excited about the new arena.  We think it’s going to give us a tremendous competitive edge by allowing our players to train and develop in an environment that will give them the resources to prepare to play hockey at the higher levels.  It’s going to be a really exciting place to play.”

Titans President and Owner George Haviland had this to say about the whole process of Ice World, “The significance of Ice World really struck me last night seeing our Men’s League players and all of our friends and alumni, with many of our players former Titans in our league.  It’s truly unbelievable to see how far we’ve come since we broke ground in April, to today, seeing our state of the art facility at this stage is truly a dream come true for me and proves that dreams do come true.  This was something I have been dreaming about for a long time, and it all came together this past week.  We started out Monday with a Titans public skate, followed that up with Titans practices and Men’s League games on Tuesday, and now finally the figure skaters today, it’s so exciting and we can’t wait to get the public in here.  It’s really been a sensational year with the Junior team winning a Bronze Medal at Nationals, the youth teams doing well, and Mike winning the Stanley Cup, and now Ice World opening, it’s just been a special year with a great Christmas gift to top it off.”

The Titans are proud to have their new facility and games will be starting at Ice World for the youth teams on Sunday, January 2nd, with the PeeWee AAA Minors getting the first game slot at 8:30 AM vs. the New Jersey Colonials.  The inaugural Titan Junior game will take place at 7:50 PM on Thursday, January 6thvs. the Central Penn Panthers.  For more information regarding the Titans program, you can visit our website at www.juniortitans.com, visit the Ice World website at www.howelliceworld.com, or give us a call at 888-220-6810.
