Cameron Klein’s Multiple Draft Selections Makes Him

One to Watch

The Titan’s Cameron Klein from the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) junior team was selected in by the Chicago Steel in the USHL draft. On the coattails of this attention, Klein was also selected by Coulee Region in the NAHL draft this week.  A hard shooting forward Klein (‘95) spent last season playing for the Titans in the EHL, after being acquired from the North Jersey Avalanche early in the 2013-2014 season.  Klein was traded to the Titans, along with defenseman Pat Dapuzzo, from the New Jersey Avalanche for Titans forward Ryan Ertmann. Both Dapuzzo and Klein jumped in as big role players for the EHL team, and Klein finished the season with 5 goals and 2 assists in 31 games. Klein is 6’1 and 203 lbs.; he’s a big kid with a heavy shot and plays a hard-nosed game. In the playoffs Klein stepped up leading the Titans in points, but unfortunately the Titans season ended with a loss to the Manchester Jr. Monarchs. Coulee Region scouted Cameron while he was playing with the Titans NAPHL U18 team in various showcases. He said that Coulee called him the night before the draft saying that they were interested in picking him.

Klein was taken in the 3rd round of yesterday’s NAHL draft; pick number 63, by the Coulee Region Chill of the North Division in the NA. Klein was also selected 189th overall by the Steel in Phase 2 of the USHL draft.

Klein had this to say about being drafted, “I’m excited about teams and the attention I am getting. Both have great coaching staffs and are surrounded by great cities.” When asked about what was said to him by both teams he responded, “Chicago congratulated me and told me some stuff to look forward to before the main camp. The Chill called me and congratulated me and said if things in Chicago don’t work out they would definitely love for me to be a big part of their season next year.  The EHL, USHL and NAHL.  I’m just happy to have so many opportunities”

Klein will now begin the process of preparing for Chicago’s main camp in June. We wish Cameron Klein the best of luck as he readies for his upcoming tryouts!
